Alan Blum

Alan Blum is a Managing Partner at the Options Group and manages the global technology practice from New York. Alan works on some of the most senior and complex roles within the financial technology space, having placed many CIOs and other senior level technologists. Alan brings a unique perspective to executive search by leveraging off his 15 years’ experience within Technology, Analytics and Structured Finance at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, as well as Salomon Brothers.

Alan has prior experience in senior level management at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and held various roles in development, analytics, CMO/ABS modeling, CMO/ABS structuring and CMO derivative trading. He eventually became a Senior Vice President and ran the Fixed Income Analytics Group, which was a hybrid team of 30 Technologists and Quants.

Alan brings a unique perspective to talent acquisition, development and retention by leveraging his past financial services experience with his 20 years’ recruitment experience. Alan oversees the execution of full life cycle recruitment and has collaborated closely with senior level management and founders at client firms, enabling them to better align their technology/quantitative objectives with the overall business goals.

Alan holds an MBA in Finance from Stern at New York University & a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from SUNY Buffalo.
